I used it to generate white noise (snow).  Then, I used the camera on my laptop to record the white noise.  I saw that this was good.  Then I started copying the video files of white noise to CDs.  This worked well for a while.  Then, some strange things happened.  My Linux system wouldn’t boot …

Error messages appeared such as “HAL daemon failed to start”.  Things are worse today, I’ve reinstalled so much I start to wonder what’s next ..
